The Skeleton’s Curse

Lord Mortimer Vane was buried with his secrets and a grudge. You wake up on the floor of his crypt with one candle left and no idea how you got there.

There’s a lantern somewhere, a mirror that doesn’t show what it should, and a chest nobody’s opened in a hundred years. Oh, and Lord Vane is sitting by the door. Watching.

How It Works

Three numbers, three steps. Turn the dial to each one.

Pick A Room

Start with a free room to get your eye in. When you’re ready, the premium escapes are longer, harder and a lot less forgiving.

Use Your Hands

Light lanterns, smash glass, spin locks, read what’s scratched into the walls. If it looks like it moves, it probably does.

Beat The Clock

Every room runs on its own timer. Hints are there when you’re stuck, but each one costs you 30 seconds.

You’re In

That’s the idea. Every room has something like this, only darker and with a clock running.

Questions

The ones we get asked most. Anything else, just ask.

No. Every room runs in your web browser. A laptop or desktop is best, phones and tablets work but things are a bit smaller.

There’s always a handful of free rooms to play, with The Skeleton’s Curse the first of them and more on the way. Premium Escapes are bigger, harder rooms you pay for once and can replay as often as you like.

Most rooms take around 10 minutes, premium ones a bit longer. The clock is always on screen, so you’ll know exactly how long you’ve got.

Yes. Crowd round one screen, or share your screen on a video call and let one person drive while everyone else shouts.

Every room has a hint button. Hints are tailored to where you’re up to, but each one knocks 30 seconds off your clock.

It’s spooky rather than gory. We’d say 12 and up, younger if they’re brave and you’re sat with them.

No, sound stays off until you switch it on. It’s a lot better with it though, especially with headphones.

Yes, Premium Escapes can be gifted. Have a look at the Gifting page.
