The rules for playing and buying our rooms, in plain English. The important bits are near the top.
Escape Verse is a trading name of InfaCloud Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17083830. Registered office: 2 Peel Court, 24 St. Cuthberts Way, Darlington, County Durham, DL1 1GB. Payments show on your bank statement as InfaCloud.
These terms cover your use of Escape Verse and any rooms you play or buy here. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
We, us and our means Escape Verse. You means you, the player. If anything here is unclear, get in touch.
Premium rooms are digital content. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase. Because our rooms start straight away, we will ask you to agree that the room is supplied immediately, and that once you start playing you lose that right to cancel.
That does not affect your rights if something is wrong. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a room has to work as described. If a room does not work as it should and we cannot fix it, we will refund you.
Some of our rooms contain jump scares, sudden loud noises, flashing images and dark, upsetting themes. Each room page says what to expect. If you have a heart condition, are sensitive to flashing lights or have photosensitive epilepsy, please take care, and stop playing if you feel unwell.
Our age guides: The December Dilemma is for families, The Skeleton’s Curse for 12 and up and Silent Night for 15 and up. You know your own children best.
We work hard to keep Escape Verse running and the rooms working in modern browsers, but we cannot promise the site will always be available or free of bugs. We may update, change or retire rooms. If we ever retire a premium room you have bought, we will tell you and offer you something in its place.
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that, up to the amount you paid us. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
The rooms, stories, puzzles, pictures, sounds and code on Escape Verse belong to us or to the people who license them to us. Buying a room gives you the right to play it, not to own it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts.
We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones in place when you made it.
